Stockman & Loram is the only independent, family-owned funeral director with offices in Brixham and Paignton, and the Torquay Road branch in Preston, Paignton continues a story that began around 60 years ago when Pop and Douglas Loram started out in Wellswood, Torquay. Ian and Vanessa Loram took over the business in 2001, and today their sons Seb and Dom carry the fourth generation of the family forward, keeping decision-making firmly local rather than answering to a distant head office.
Families visiting the Torquay Road office can choose from traditional burials and cremations, green and woodland funerals, and religious or non-religious ceremonies, alongside direct cremations and private service chapel facilities for a more intimate farewell. The team also offers memorial services, cremation jewellery and bespoke tributes, with staff on hand to manage legal documentation, transport and liaison with third parties throughout.
