Peasgood & Skeates is an independent, family-owned funeral directors with a branch at 164 Histon Road in Arbury, Cambridge, part of a group with seven offices across Cambridgeshire, Essex and Suffolk.
The business traces back to 1847 when James Day founded Peasgood & Son as a wheelwright and carpentry business that evolved into funeral services; R Skeates Funeral Directors (founded 1965) merged with the firm in 2012, followed by Cambridge Funeral Services in 2014. The group is a SAIF member and is led by COO Seán Martin and General Manager Phil Warner, with David Peasgood continuing as a consultant.
The Histon Road branch opened in May 2021 with modern, spacious facilities including a quiet lounge for arrangements, on-site parking, and the option of home visits.
