L Tranter and Son, incorporating Bailey and Tranter, is an independent funeral directors based on West Street, Telford, with roots to 1898. Bailey & Tranter was founded by the Bailey family in 1916 before John Tranter purchased it in the early 1980s, bringing the two long-standing local firms together. Serving Telford for five generations, the combined business also operates alongside sister brand Evans and Tranter, and uses the group's Aston House facility, Telford's first large capacity funeral director service hall.
The firm offers traditional funerals and direct cremation, a range of coffins and caskets including eco-friendly and veneered options, funeral transport, memorials and headstone repair, floral tributes, funeral stationery, and chapels of rest. Aston House provides private parking, a reception lounge, and live streaming, music and visual tribute facilities for services. Pre-paid funeral plans are available through Golden Charter, alongside support with charitable donations and press notices.
