Jonathan Terry Independent Funeral Directors opened this London Road office in 2008 to serve families on the eastern side of Southampton, complementing the original Peartree Avenue premises. Founded in 1998 by Jonathan Terry - a funeral professional since 1985, NAFD member since 1989 and BIFD Governor - the company remains truly independent and privately owned, with no corporate sales targets, and both Southampton branches offer a 24-hour service.
The London Road team offers funeral arranging, monumental masonry, greener funeral options, direct cremation through Hampshire Direct Cremations, and pre-paid plans, alongside access to the company's White Lily Centre for bereavement support, which runs coffee mornings, a newsletter and an annual Christmas remembrance service. The firm publishes transparent, standardised price lists and provides online guidance on registrars, crematoria and reception venues to help families plan.
Alongside Peartree Avenue and London Road, the company also operates from an industrial site in Hedge End used for behind-the-scenes operational support, reflecting a structure built to serve Southampton families from more than one part of the city.
