This Galashiels branch, trading as David Hardie & Son and based at Ladhope Vale Funeral Home, is part of the William Purves group, an independent, family-run Scottish funeral director group rather than one of the national chains. It serves the Scottish Borders, including Tweedbank, Melrose, Clovenfords and Kelso, offering attended and direct (unattended) cremation, burial and full funeral arrangement services.
William Purves describes itself as family run for five generations, with over 135 years of history in Scottish funeral care; the group operates multiple branches across Edinburgh, the Lothians and the Borders under local trading names such as David Hardie & Son. The branch offers 24/7 emergency availability alongside standard office hours.
Standardised pricing for the Borders region is published via the group's price list system, and the branch can be reached by phone or through the William Purves website's contact form.
