Griffiths Bwtrimawr is an independent, family-run funeral director with its main office at 39 Betws Road, Betws, Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, tracing its roots back to 1875 when the Griffiths family began as builders and carpenters before moving into funeral directing. Now in its fifth generation under descendants of founder Thomas Griffiths, the firm serves the Amman Valley from five branches, also trading as Hywel Griffiths and Sons, Keith Morgan and Sons, Evan Rees and Sons, and Douglas Davies.
The business offers a genuinely bilingual, Welsh-English service reflecting its deep roots in Welsh-speaking communities, alongside chapel of rest facilities and prepaid funeral planning through Golden Charter. It also operates Griffiths Memorials, providing BRAMM-accredited monument design, installation and restoration.
With branches also in Gwaun Cae Gurwen, Glanamman, Pontarddulais and Llandeilo, the firm gives Amman Valley families a locally rooted, multi-generational independent alternative with over 150 years of continuous family involvement.
