Wild & Brierley has served the Oldham community since 1890, when the business was founded by John Wild. It later became Wild & Brierley following a partnership between Robert Wild and Samuel Brierley, and today operates under the ownership of Darren Clark, who took over the family firm in 2009 to preserve its traditions; his son Michael joined the business in 2008. The team, a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), arranges funerals for all faiths and none, including Christian, Sikh, Hindu, Buddhist and community-specific services for Polish, Afro-Caribbean, Vietnamese and Chinese families. Eco-friendly options such as biodegradable coffins and natural burials are available, alongside video-call appointments, service live-streaming and wheelchair-accessible premises.
