Thomas Ryde & Son traces its history to the 1800s, when Thomas Ryde first operated from Bridge Foot in Belper Lane; the business passed through generations of the same family before relocating to 35 Bridge Street, Belper, in 1991 and being acquired by the Jepson family in 2001. It now operates as part of Jepson Funerals Limited, a network of independent funeral homes across the Midlands.
The firm combines traditional practice with contemporary approaches, offering pre-arranged funeral plans and full support from initial consultation through to the service itself. Staff are members of the National Association of Funeral Directors and the Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors, with 24/7 availability for the Belper community and surrounding areas.
