Bristol Funeral Directors is a multi-generational, family-owned group tracing its lineage to Boulton Funeral Directors (1866), later Griffin and Sons, acquired by Ewart Cobden Alderwick in 1945. It is now led by fourth-generation family members Philip Alderwick and Derek Gunningham, and has absorbed several long-standing Bristol firms, including Thomas Davis (established 1840), Cotton & Sons (1855), John Davis Funeral Services and Heaven on Earth.
The group offers traditional and low-cost funeral options, pre-paid funeral plans, and highly personalised services including reintroduced horse-drawn carriage funerals, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
