Family Funeral Service is a second-generation, family-run funeral director serving Maidstone and surrounding villages for around 50 years. Owner and managing director Michael Lawrence leads a small team, including funeral directors Rik, Jo and Tara, from offices in Barming, Bearsted and Headcorn.
An NAFD member and 2018 Golden Charter Funeral Planner of the Year, the firm offers traditional and direct cremation funerals, exhumations, funeral pre-planning, obituary notices, in memoriam donation coordination, and help choosing funeral music, poetry, coffins and caskets, alongside monumental masonry. Each office has a Chapel of Rest and ample parking, home visits are available for those unable to attend in person, and the business - featured in a Channel 4 documentary on funeral directing during the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020 - offers a 24-hour personal service to families at every stage.
