Taylor Funeral Service Ltd, incorporating the former Dene End Funerals, was established in 1933 by Harry Taylor and relocated in 1954 to its current premises at The Mount, 2 Cowlersley Lane, Cowlersley, becoming the first residential funeral home in Huddersfield. The business is now run by husband-and-wife team Tony and Helen Dalton, who bring over 35 years' combined experience in funeral directing, and has served the Huddersfield community for more than 80 years.
The residential funeral home includes a chapel of rest for the care and viewing of the deceased, and offers traditional funeral arrangements, direct cremation, horse-drawn hearses, floral tributes, printed orders of service, music sourcing, newspaper notices, reception catering, charitable donation management, monumental masonry, and online tributes and obituaries. Pre-paid funeral plans are provided through Golden Charter, which is registered with the Funeral Planning Authority and recommended by SAIF.
Taylor Funeral Service is listed with the National Association of Funeral Directors and describes itself as a local community funeral director, emphasising "open, honest and straightforward advice" and a personal style of care. The office is open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, with a 24-hour emergency contact number available outside these hours.
