Tapper Funeral Service's Christchurch branch on Barrack Road opened in 2009 on the site of a former garage and car showroom, purpose-built as a funeral home with a private lounge, chapel of rest and a Ceremony Hall with audio-visual and webcasting facilities. The branch is led by manager Jack Stanisstreet, who holds a Diploma in Funeral Directing, alongside senior funeral director Jon Miles and funeral director Jessica Ratcliffe, part of the family-owned Tapper business founded in 1904.
Services include traditional funerals, direct and unattended cremations, and celebration-of-life events, plus pre-paid funeral plans and access to the Harbour View Crematorium. Tapper is a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors, a signatory to the UK Funeral Director Code and FCA-regulated for its pre-paid plans, and offers ongoing bereavement support through its Outlook service to families across Christchurch and the wider Dorset area.
