Steven Mears Funeral Directors was established in 1994 and operates as part of the Funeral Partners network of around 297 branches across England and Wales, whose parent company is registered in Nottinghamshire. The Beckenham branch, at 171 Elmers End Road, benefits from strong transport links — a two-minute walk from Birkbeck train station and nine minutes from Elmers End train and tram stop — plus free street parking and wheelchair access, though without a disabled toilet.
The branch offers cremations, burials, green funerals, unattended cremations and repatriation, along with memorial masonry, coffin selections, ash urns, transport, floral tributes and probate assistance, supporting Catholic, Anglican, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh and Buddhist services as well as non-religious ceremonies. Notable facilities include a private chapel of rest and a memorial garden. Office hours run Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, with 24/7 telephone availability and home visits offered on request.
Steven Mears is a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), and offers Choice Funeral Plans through Alternative Planning Company Limited, regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority; a published standardised price list starts from £1,750, excluding third-party fees.
