Ronnie Thompson Funeral Directors has served Lisburn and the surrounding County Antrim area for over 50 years, founded by Ronnie Thompson with his brothers Campbell and Jim. In 1996 the family moved into Lisburn's only purpose-built funeral facility, featuring a 144-seat chapel - the largest of its kind in the area - along with private viewing rooms and office space at 20 Ballinderry Road. In 2007 Bill Reid and his wife Anne, previously of Douglas Funeral Directors in Ballynahinch, joined as business partners, and the owners remain directly and personally involved in the business today.
The independent, family-run firm offers embalming, chapel of rest facilities with extended viewing hours, a fleet of Jaguar hearses and limousines finished in black and royal claret, memorial masonry, pre-arranged and pre-paid funeral plans, and funeral notices, alongside 24-hour, 365-day availability. The company positions itself around the tagline 'Service with Dignity & Respect' and highlights its independence from larger corporate groups as a point of distinction, and is a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors.
