R Wallace & Son was established in 1972 by Ronald Wallace and his son Stuart in West Butterwick, originally as a memorial masonry business before expanding into funeral directing. Now in its second generation of family ownership, the firm describes itself as "the only locally owned completely independent Funeral Directors in the Isle of Axholme", having remained family-run throughout more than 40 years of operation.
From its office at 27 High Street, Crowle, the firm serves the Isle of Axholme and North Lincolnshire, offering traditional and direct cremation funerals, a private chapel of rest, coffin choices, floral tributes, service sheet design and printing, and catering guidance, alongside a 24-hour personal on-call service. The business is an appointed representative of Golden Charter Limited for pre-paid funeral plans, regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and is a member of SAIF.
