Peasgood & Skeates is an independent, family-owned funeral director group formed from the merger of three established Cambridgeshire and Essex firms, with this branch located at 48A High Street, Sawston. The group operates seven offices across Cambridge, Duxford, Haverhill, Saffron Walden and Sawston, offering attended funerals, direct cremation, bereavement guidance and memorial options.
The firm's roots trace to 1847, when James Day founded what became Peasgood & Son; R Skeates Funeral Directors (founded 1965 in Duxford) merged with Peasgood in 2012, and Cambridge Funeral Services joined in 2014 to form the present business. It is a SAIF member and offers 24-hour availability and community involvement including Rotary sponsorship.
David Peasgood serves as a consultant to the firm while Claire Skeates, granddaughter of R Skeates founder Ron Skeates, continues as a working funeral director, giving the Sawston branch direct family continuity.
