Nicholas O'Hara Funeral Directors was founded in 1974 by Nicholas O'Hara with his parents Alfred (Pat) and Brenda, who converted a former nursing home, Somerleigh Court, into the company's original Wimborne headquarters. The Ferndown branch is the newest addition to a network that now spans eight locations across Dorset, including Wimborne, Verwood, West Moors, Westbourne, Poole and Bournemouth, and has been part of the Funeral Partners group since 2023.
Serving Ferndown and the surrounding area from newly refurbished premises with private family rooms and an on-site service chapel, the branch is led by local funeral director Jon Austin. The team arranges cremation and burial funerals for religious and non-religious families alike, and is a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors, with reviews independently verified through Much Loved.
