Nicholas O'Hara Funeral Directors' Wimborne branch is the company's founding location, established in 1974 by Nicholas O'Hara together with his parents Alfred (Pat) and Brenda, who converted Somerleigh Court from a former nursing home into the firm's original headquarters. The business is now part of the Funeral Partners network, trading alongside seven further branches across Dorset including Verwood, West Moors, Westbourne, Poole, Ferndown and Bournemouth.
The Rowlands Hill premises include three private chapels of rest and a service venue seating around 20 people, with wheelchair access, a disabled toilet and free parking. The team supports religious and non-religious funerals, cremations, burials, unattended cremation and repatriation, alongside memorial masonry, coffin selection, ashes caskets and urns, transport and floral tributes for families across Wimborne.
Home visit consultations are offered alongside office hours of Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with 24-hour telephone availability. The firm is a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors and gathers independently verified reviews through Much Loved.
