McCallum & Tritton & Sons is an independent, family-founded funeral directors serving Bootle and the wider Liverpool area, established in 1953 by Douglas McCallum and Charles Tritton after the pair reconnected following the Second World War. The firm remains true to its founders' principles under funeral directors Andrew Stones - a partner since 2011 with over 40 years' service - David Bray and Ainsley Ottley.
As a genuinely local, independent firm not bound by corporate head-office rules, they are members of both the National Association of Funeral Directors and SAIF, offering pre-paid funeral plans, eco-friendly coffin options such as wicker and cardboard alongside more traditional veneer and casket choices, and a fleet of Mercedes hearses and limousines, with horse-drawn and motorcycle hearses also available on request.
Private chapels of repose are maintained across their Bootle, Brighton-le-Sands and Holden Road premises, including a newer chapel at the Bootle site, with the team offering a 24-hour personal service built around individual family needs rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
