McCallum & Tritton & Sons was founded in September 1952 by Douglas McCallum, Charlie and Eileen Tritton, conducting their first funeral in 1953. Following Eileen and Kevin Tritton's retirement, the business passed to long-serving partner Andrew Stones, who has been with the firm for over 40 years, alongside qualified funeral directors David Bray and Ainsley Ottley.
The independent, family-owned business serves Liverpool communities including Brighton-le-Sands and Bootle, operating from its main premises on Mersey View alongside private chapels of repose on Holden Road East and a further office on Stanley Road in Bootle. Services include full attended funerals from around £2,345 and direct cremation from £1,775, both inclusive of disbursements, pre-paid funeral plans, and a wide choice of coffins from traditional veneer to eco-friendly wicker and cardboard options.
The firm maintains its own fleet of Mercedes hearses and limousines, kept in service for some 40 years, and can also provide horse-drawn vehicles or a motorcycle hearse on request. McCallum & Tritton & Sons offers 24-hour service and is a member of both the National Association of Funeral Directors and the Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Professionals.
