M Rushton Funeral Directors was founded in 1986 and is based at The Old Post Office on Marshside Road in Southport, serving the town and the wider Merseyside area. The branch is led by Michael Rushton, described as the longest-serving funeral director in Southport with over 39 years' experience, alongside Michelle Rushton, who brings more than 15 years in bereavement support and additional counselling qualifications.
The firm arranges cremations, burials, green and woodland funerals, repatriation and unattended cremation, along with memorial masonry, coffin selection, urns and caskets, floral tributes and funeral stationery, plus probate assistance and online tribute management. The branch operates a private chapel of rest and an in-house coffin workshop.
