L&J Gulwell is based at 1 Quaker Lane in Thornbury and is operated by Austin Sheppard Funeral Directors Ltd, an independent group that draws on over 75 years of combined funeral experience in the Bristol area and also trades as F Woodruff and HG Harris. The branch keeps its own local identity while benefiting from the wider group's resources.
The team assists with coffin selection, floral tributes and arrangements, masonry memorials, urns for ashes, traditional and alternative funeral transport, funeral stationery such as orders of service, and support with registering a death. Pre-paid funeral plans are offered through Golden Charter Limited, an FCA-regulated provider, giving families the option to plan and pay in advance.
L&J Gulwell serves Thornbury and the wider South Gloucestershire area, including Olveston, Tytherington, Falfield, Oldbury-on-Severn and Berkeley. The office is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with weekend appointments available by request and a 24-hour phone line for immediate support.
