Julie Wesson Independent Funeral Directors was founded in 2007 by Julie and her husband Richard; Julie began working in the funeral industry at 17 and held a managerial role before starting the business. The Beeston office, Harold House on Villa Street, is named after Julie's father and was opened in January 2020, while a second office, Stowell House, operates in Chilwell.
The company offers funeral arrangement consultations, pre-paid funeral plans through Ecclesiastical Planning Services, personalised coffins ranging from traditional to themed designs, caskets, urns, keepsakes, scatter tubes, floral tributes, and funeral vehicles, with cover available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year across Beeston, Chilwell, Attenborough, and the wider Nottingham and Derbyshire area.
The business markets itself on a personal, family feel, noting "the kettle is always on," and has been named Funeral Director of the Year by the Central England Prestige Awards in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
