J E Davies & Son is an independent, family-run funeral director now in its fourth generation, led today by Edward Davies, great-grandson of founder J E Davies and a holder of the NAFD Diploma in funeral services. Describing itself as Flintshire's largest independent funeral directors, the firm operates seven branches including this one on Mold Road, Buckley, serving Flintshire and the surrounding North Wales area, with a staff of around 25 local employees.

The firm provides funeral direction, ceremonial vehicles including a fleet of classic Daimler DS420 limousines built between 1968 and 1992, chapel facilities, repatriation, memorial headstones through Delyn Memorials, floristry through Emma's Country Choice, and wedding cars, and runs its own stone mill in Bagillt that has produced memorials for thirty years. Services are available in Welsh as well as English, with 24-hour availability, and the firm publishes a CMA-compliant standardised price list shared across its Buckley, Flint and Mold branches.
