I W Myers is one of the oldest established family funeral directors in Britain, founded in 1701 in Wheldrake, York, originally as undertakers, joiners and wheelwrights. Following the death of Ian William Myers in 2005, his grandson James Myers continued the business until entering a supporting partnership with J G Fielder & Son in 2011; James now runs the family's complementary monumental masonry service.
The partnership provides traditional attended funerals, cremation arrangements, webcasting and livestreaming, plus coffins, urns, caskets, keepsakes and grave markers.
Operating from Wheldrake alongside the wider J G Fielder & Son network of offices in York, Tadcaster, Pocklington, Market Weighton and Easingwold, the business serves the wider Yorkshire region 24/7 and describes itself among the area's most experienced independent funeral directors.
