Head & Wheble is an independent, family-run funeral directors serving Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch, with further reach across Dorset and Hampshire and UK-wide travel available on request. The firm traces its roots to 1926, when George Head established the business at Oxford Road in Lansdowne; it became Head & Wheble in 1943 after George partnered with fellow funeral director Charles Wheble.

Now in its fourth generation of family ownership, with George's great-grandsons James and Robert Head continuing the tradition alongside Simon P R Head, the firm marks its centenary in 2026. Alongside cremation, burial, direct cremation and woodland burial arrangements, the company offers repatriation, burial at sea, exhumation, funeral receptions and pre-paid funeral plans through Golden Charter, which is protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

Head & Wheble also operates as BRAMM-certified monumental masons, offering memorial headstone design, restoration and maintenance work, including headstone insurance. The team is available around the clock, and the firm holds membership of the National Association of Funeral Directors, SAIF, the British Institute of Funeral Directors, FIAT-IFTA and the Institute of Embalmers (MBIE), combining long-standing family values with modern facilities.
