Fawcett & Hetherington Funeral Service is an independent, family-owned business founded in 1993 by Alistair Fawcett and David "Pip" Hetherington, and now led by their sons Terry and Andrew. The firm describes itself as the only family-owned funeral service based in Greater Eston, having grown from its original South Bank premises before relocating in 2010 to a purpose-built funeral home at King George House in Eston.
Services include traditional and direct cremation and burial arrangements, direct unattended cremation packages catering for up to 25 mourners, memorials and keepsakes, pre-paid funeral plans, and help with claiming bereavement benefits. Staff are members of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), the British Institute of Funeral Directors (BIFD) and the British Institute of Embalmers (BIOE).
The company serves Middlesbrough, Redcar and the wider Teesside area, operating a 24/7 phone line under the stated philosophy "Our Family Caring for Your Family," with an emphasis on compassion, local trust and personalisation built up over more than three decades.
