Gordon Blake founded the business in 1982, serving the Forest of Dean for over three decades before his 2007 retirement, when ownership transferred to Ernest Heal & Sons Independent Family Funeral Directors. Day-to-day operations are overseen by Michael Kennerley, a qualified funeral director active locally as a Rotarian, church organist and choir conductor.
