E.B. Button & Sons has been serving Woodbridge and the surrounding Suffolk area since 1864, when the business was first run by George Thurman on Castle Street, combining funeral directing with carpentry and joinery - the firm made its own elm and oak coffins until the 1980s. Edward Bardwell Button took over in 1920, and today the business is led by Colin, Stephen and Kate, descendants of Derek Moore, who joined the firm in 1956. The team, which also includes assistant funeral directors David Bloomfield and Ron Bossingham, is a SAIF member and offers a modern vehicle fleet alongside a private chapel of rest, green burial options, and support with obituaries and floral tributes.
