D Moodie & Co was founded in 1911 by Donald Moodie and has been family-owned by the Paton family since 1946, now in its third generation; the firm evolved from car repairs and petrol services into a dedicated funeral director. It operates four branches serving Glasgow, Paisley, Barrhead and Neilston, of which this Rowan Street address is the Paisley branch.
Services include personalised, simple and direct cremation funerals, floral tributes, funeral transport, music and order-of-service booklets, memorials and Golden Charter prepaid plans. The firm won the Golden Charter National Funeral Planner of the Year award in 2006, is a member of the British Institute of Embalmers, the British Institute of Funeral Directors and SAIF, and operates a fleet of Mercedes E-class funeral vehicles.
