D Moodie & Co was founded in 1911 by Donald Moodie and has been family-owned by the Paton family since 1946, now in its third generation, having evolved from car repairs and petrol services into a dedicated funeral director. This Cross Arthurlie Street address is the firm's Barrhead branch, part of a four-branch group also covering Glasgow, Paisley and Neilston.
Services include personalised, simple and direct cremation funerals, floral tributes, funeral transport, music and order-of-service booklets, memorials and Golden Charter prepaid plans. The firm won the Golden Charter National Funeral Planner of the Year award in 2006, is a member of the British Institute of Embalmers, the British Institute of Funeral Directors and SAIF, and runs a fleet of Mercedes E-class funeral vehicles.
