D.J. Protheroe & Sons is an independent, family-owned funeral director based at Riverside Funeral Home, Georgetown, Merthyr Tydfil, established in 1987 by Reverend David Jones Protheroe, his wife Anne, and their son Robert. Robert Protheroe now leads the firm, which also operates a second office in Brynmawr, offering coffin selection, orders of service, stone memorials and prepaid funeral plans around the clock throughout the year.
The business is an appointed representative of Golden Charter Limited (FRN 965279), regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and is a member of SAIF. It also works with specialist partners including Ashes Into Glass and Legacy Expressions for bespoke memorial keepsakes.
Now in its second generation of family leadership, the firm continues to serve Merthyr Tydfil and the wider Vale of Glamorgan area with personalised, round-the-clock funeral care.
