Established in 1905 by John Cowburn, Cowburn Funeral Service is an independent, family-owned business with over 100 years' history, now managed by Managing Director Carina Halliwell Jones (Dip F.D). Based in Westhoughton, Bolton, the firm serves an extended area including Atherton, Leigh, Tyldesley, Horwich, Farnworth, Aspull and Blackrod.
Services include full funeral arrangement, death registration assistance, caskets, urns and keepsakes, headstones and memorials, Golden Charter pre-paid plans, horse-drawn and other funeral vehicles, green funerals, repatriation and 24-hour on-call support. The firm holds memberships with the British Institute of Embalmers, NAFD and SAIF, and offers FCA-regulated Golden Charter funeral plans.
