Colin McGinley Funeral Service is an independent, family-run business founded by Colin McGinley, who qualified as a funeral director in July 1989 after his wedding car hire company began working with the funeral trade. The firm started at Bank House on Yarm Road in Yarm before moving to its current Eaglescliffe premises on Beechwood Road in 2000, later opening a second branch at 235A Acklam Road in Middlesbrough.
Colin McGinley holds a Diploma in Funeral Directing and professional memberships including the National Association of Funeral Directors and the British Institute of Funeral Directors. The company describes each funeral as a bespoke event, focusing on celebrating a life and creating healing moments after loss, and offers pre-paid funeral plans through Golden Charter, for which it is an introducer appointed representative regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 965279).
