A.W. Lymn - The Family Funeral Service Stapleford

A.W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service has been owned and run by the Lymn Rose family since 1907 and is one of the largest independent funeral directors in the East Midlands. The firm first arrived in Stapleford in 2003 after acquiring six sites from the Ilkeston Co-op Funeral Group, initially operating from Parker House on Church Street. In 2021 the branch relocated to Half Crown House, 38 Derby Road - a converted former bank whose banking counter and internal walls were stripped out to create purpose-built facilities, including two chapels, an extended mortuary and an expanded car park. The branch is run by Funeral Arranger Tracey Sweeting-Rowe, who has served the Stapleford community for several years, with commercial oversight from the wider group.

The Stapleford branch serves families in Stapleford, Chilwell and Trowell, and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with administrative hours of Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday mornings. Services offered include traditional burials and cremations, direct cremation, green funerals, and multi-faith ceremonies for Muslim, Jewish, Hindu and Buddhist families, alongside pre-paid funeral plans, repatriation, bereavement counselling and personalised touches such as video tributes and catering. The branch is a National Association of Funeral Directors member and, like its sister branches, draws on the wider A.W. Lymn group's vehicle fleet and support network.
