A.W. Lymn - The Family Funeral Service was established in 1907 and remains family-owned by the Lymn Rose family, now operating a network of 26 offices across Nottinghamshire and South Derbyshire. This branch, The Old Farm at 2 Welbeck Road, Mansfield Woodhouse (NG19 9JZ), occupies what the firm describes as one of the oldest buildings in Mansfield Woodhouse, a former farmhouse that has been recently and completely refurbished, and the office incorporated the former Cyril Welsh Funeral Directors business. It serves Mansfield Woodhouse and the surrounding area, including Mansfield, Rainworth and Warsop.
Facilities include a dedicated service chapel, family and visiting rooms, cold room facilities, washing facilities to accommodate specific funeral rites, ample parking, and a fleet of hearses and limousines including a Rolls-Royce Phantom VII. The branch is led by Senior Funeral Director Jonathan Baker (with the firm since 2001), alongside funeral directors Andy Askew (since 2004) and Stacey Burman (since 2009), funeral arrangers Wendy Walker (since 2013) and Max Whitehouse (since 2021), a team of drivers and bearers, and casual funeral assistant Lexie Clayton. Opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and Saturday, 9am to 12:30pm, with emergency access available outside these hours.
Group-wide, A.W. Lymn offers traditional funerals, bespoke obituaries and pre-payment planning, supported by affiliated businesses such as City Flowers Nottingham and The Craftsmen in Stone, with 24-hour, seven-day availability across the network.
