Arthur E. Davey & Sons Ltd traces its roots back to 1920, when Walter Lippiatt and his son Edwin established the original funeral business in Nailsea. The firm has operated under the Arthur E. Davey name since the early 1950s and remains a genuinely independent, family-run business, now in its third generation of family leadership, based on Silver Street in Nailsea, Bristol.
The firm's values centre on serving the whole community with an ethos of exceptional service, compassion and meticulous attention to detail, regardless of a family's background or beliefs. They describe their role within the community as an honour and privilege, respecting and embracing all faiths and cultures, and place a strong emphasis on building trust through professionalism and approachability, alongside genuine kindness and bereavement support for every family they serve.
Arthur E. Davey & Sons is a member of both the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFAD) and the National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF), underscoring its commitment to industry standards. A standardised, CMA-compliant price list is published on the firm's website, ensuring Nailsea families have clear, upfront information when arranging a funeral with this well-established, independent local firm.
