Albin and Hitchcock is part of F.A. Albin & Sons, an independent, family-operated funeral director serving Newham and the wider South East London and Kent area from a network of branches including Bermondsey/Rotherhithe (head office), Deptford, Mottingham, Barking, Sidcup, Welling, Walworth and Crayford. Services include full funeral arrangement and planning, a comprehensive range of coffins, pre-arranged funeral plans, and repatriation handled through the firm's own international division, Albin International.

The business traces its origins back more than 200 years, when the Albin family were wardens of a local cemetery; the firm's first funeral parlour opened in Snowsfield, Bermondsey, near St Thomas' Hospital, with horses originally stabled on Fendal Street. By the 1950s the business had transitioned to motorised transport, including Daimlers and Rolls-Royce hearses, before relocating to its current Culling Road premises in 1974 under Fred Albin, with Barry Albin taking over leadership in 1986 — a genuine multi-generation family history spanning two centuries.
